I am sure you saw the note in the sleep number manual but I thought it would be worth mentioning since you will be headed east soon, dont forget to deflate your bed somewhat before heading...

We have the short in our 3950. No need to modify anything. I actually think the under bed storage is easier to get to with the sleep number than a conventional mattress.
