For your sake I hope not too. Sounds like its sure bound up in there though. I've also heard of the shoe breaking in the track and causing it to bind but I've never dealt with those.

Have heard of taking trim off, using a saws all with metal cutting blade and somehow cut that shaft several places and remove it, then push the slide in.

Are you positive you got the motor popped up far enough to disengage the motor gear from the track? Like pdonoghu said you have to make sure you get that motor retention screw out before the motor...
