Or use duct tape. I used it for years and still do on some things. The problem I have with duct tape is it leave that sticky residue behind. I was going to start a post of the wonders of Gaffers Tape...

I would run a strip of Gaffers Tape over that to keep water out until you get it repaired. Oh yeah, hardly anyone uses Gaffers Tape except me. Can't live without it. :)

Use some Blue Painter Tape....
