If your converter is behind a surge protector then it should not have been affected.
My last TT had a crappy fuse box that would allow the fuses to work loose, and be intermittent. Maybe the furnace...

Check that your 12 volt fuses are not loose, and are all seated properly. The fuse blocks they use are pretty cheap, and the blades can get loose.
