Same idea as I suggest, only dif is I use the rebar to keep the stack in place. The wedges would come in handy when you have a steep slope, I'll have to add a few...

Get yourself a treated 4X4 or two, a 2X8 or 2x10...

Get yourself a treated 4X4 or two, a 2X8 or 2x10 and a length of 1/2" rebar.

Cut the 2X8(10) to create a square, cut the 4X4 to what ever length you need, cut the rebar 12" longer that the stack...
