2017 Aerolite with Soft Bathroom Floor

We have a 2017 Dutchmen Aerolite 27' trailer and the bathroom floor has become extremely soft. It is a result of moisture under the floor but we haven't been able to determine the source of the moisture. Has anyone else experienced this problem?

my floor in the bedroom, just outside of the bathroom, has gotten soft. They want about 7200.00 plus materials to fix a 1x1 area in front of the bed. My dealership has submitted to Dutchmen for warranty but I think I already know the answer. I also submitted to cornerstone for warranty but it is not covered. I may try to fix it myself with a plate under the carpet.

I am having the same problem

We only have a Aerolite Cub, but the whole main floor from the bathroom to the door is soft. it is a 2004 unit and I wouldn't even try to contact Dutchman on this matter.

I am planning on taking the cabinets and seats out and replacing the floor. I am curious if it is because the bottom has a sealed membrane and if there is a leak somewhere, there is no place for the water to drain so it just sits there and rots the wood flooring...

FYI. I got my RV back and they didn't fix the floor. The service writer did not know if they submitted it to Dutchmen for consideration or not. The information she got back was the RV was out of structural warranty. She mentioned to me that the floor was a foam core construction and it was just giving way. IF I get the time today, I will PDF the repair order so you can see what they were going to do to the RV in order to fix it. I'm not sure what I will do about it, maybe trade it before it gets to be too bad or just keep it and see if I can cut out the part and fix it myself. Just thinking out loud.

Here is the write-up they sent to cornerstone to repair the floor (by the way, it's like a 1 foot square area near the bathroom/bedroom wall.

Repair #1 Status: Denied Non-Covered Part (cornerstone denied the repair)
Repair Description: 1-PREAUTH EST: 39.0 & PARTS
REMOVE BED ASSY FROM SLIDE. REMOVE DRESSER MOUNTED TO WALL AND CARPET FROM BEDROOM.
REMOVE LINO UNDER CARPET. CUT OUT AND REMOVE DAMAGED FLOOR AREA, ADD ALUMINUM BRACING TO FLOOR WHEN PASS FRONT TO REAR. REMOVE FRONT STABILIZER JACK. GRIND OFF RIVOTS HOLDING BELLY MATERIAL ON. REMOVE BELLY UNDER FLOOR AREA. ADD BRACING SIDE TO SIDE TO SUPPORT FLOOR AND NEW BRACING IN FLOOR. RELAMINATE NEW FOAM AND FLOORING TO AREA. FINISH SEAMS, REINSTALL CARPET. REINSTALL BELLY AND FRONT STABILIZER JACKS. REINSTALL BED ASSY AND DRESSER ON WALL.
NOTE FULL EXTENT OF FLOOR DAMAGE CAN NOT BE SEEN UNTIL ACCESSED MORE REPAIR COULD BE NEEDED.

I will tell you that this is way more than they were really going to do. the stabilizer jacks are way in the front of the RV, several feet away from the spot they would be working on.

Foam core floor, let's see. Does that mean the floor is Styrofoam sandwiched between two sheets of 1/8 inch Lauan?

no idea. I thought it was regular plywood. I get it back today so I will be able to pull some of the heater vents to see exactly what it is made of. I know the floor on the slides is plywood because the dining table came loose from the floor (they had to replace the table when I first got it). I had to use the old holes and plug them with golf tees in order to fortify and get the screws to hold.

I have the rest of the week to explore the issue and see what they did in order to put the electric valves in. I asked them to let me know when they had the belly open so I could take a look at "things" but they never called.

A strange thought just crossed my mind. What if a dealer didn't want to do a warranted job because it's not profitable. But, he has to go through the motions to show the customer he really cares. What if the dealer pads the estimated work to be done so the warranty work will be denied?
Grind rivets off the tongue to work on the floor inside the unit. A small pad thrown in there that the customer may not see or understand could be enough to get the claim denied. Dunno...........RV dealers

no clue. Possibility of removing a section of the carpet and installing a aluminum plate over the soft area has crossed my mind.

Never thought about that. Why spend 30 hours on one small profit job when I could easily do a couple of smaller and easier jobs and make the same dough?

I do that at home... friggin house has particle board sub-floors anything gets wet and it disintegrates. We had a washing machine pump crack, the floor in the corner behind the washer went bad in a 12"x12" area. I put an 18"x18" piece of flat steel sheet in there, shoved the washing machine back in and let it ride. Eventually I will have to repair it properly, but that is down the road aways.

Particle board floors in mobile homes!!

It was a given a firefighter would go through a mobile home floor after extinguishing a fire.

Full bunker gear and an air pack and probably some sort of heavy tool in hand.

If lucky, the cheap carpet would slow the 24 or more inch decent to the ground or until the groin effect took over and stopped the action.

If unlucky, cheap vinyl floor covering did nothing so it was all up to the groin effect and it came into play much sooner, very much sooner.

I have a list a mile long of those "need to fix what I repaired" items!
