New Roof

I just started a project of rebuilding the roof on a 1999 Dutchmen 1006 XS D with the roof mounted a/c unit. Does anyone have tips from their previous experience in doing the same thing? The a/c unit and roof have been removed from the camper, now it's just measuring and cutting for a new roof. Also, does anyone have an idea where I might be able to get an owner's manual?

Welcome to the forums!

Owner's manuals are non existent. The ones that do exist are extremely generic and basically tell you to refer to the individual appliance manuals.

What type of framing do you have? And what type of roof are you putting back on? I have done several different types over the years. Not particularly hard, just have to pay attention to the edges and openings for proper flashing so they don't leak. We always beefed up the framing around the AC units so we would have more wood to fasten into.

Wahoonc,
Thanks for the response, welcome and info. I am not sure what the roof framing is made from. I'll need to peel the aluminum sheet off, which is divided in two sections.
