To chain or not to chain?

First, when towing your 5er do you use safety chains? Are they required in any state that you know of?

Why would you not safety chain? I would think the safety part would be important to everyone...

They are required in Washington State if you use an Andersen hitch.

My 3990 with AirRide doesn't have a place for them, nor does my Reese hitch that I'm aware of. Bottom line, no chains, just emergency brake line.

Some do some don't. Just don't see a lot on 5th wheel setups, hence the question.

A 5th Wheel hitch does not require chains in any state. A gooseneck/Anderson should have chains. Even if they aren't specifically required.

Ok so I use an Anderson and will use chains. Sold my older heavy Anderson Ultimate Hitch for twice what I paid for it and picked up a brand new light weight Anderson with a chain plate. Will install tonight and take picures. Thanks everyone for your response.

Chains on a 5th wheel? Never heard of it. They have a breakaway cable that applies the trailer brakes if the trailer comes unhitched.
