Well, I have the power to pull our Voltage 3800 at 75MPH, and I-70 through Utah just got moved up to 80MPH...
But ya know...I don't want to afford it! Gads if I drove the duramax that fast hauling a loaded toyhauler...I'd be down to 5 MPG...probably.
So I just set the cruise at 70 MPH. We can climb just about any hill without having to touch the gas pedal.
Now retired and learning to slow down. No need to be in a big hurry, and as an aside, no need to go more than about 350 miles a day. Sleep in a little, watch the morning news, then pack up and get underway and quit before the sun goes down.
I finally got back to the RV and looked at the tires. They are Westlake Super ST235/80/16. Etrailer says they are rated at 65 so I slowed down on this trip. Thanks for the advice.
I have seen bad reviews on this make as well, but all of the recalls seem to be dated in the last decade. I looked up the speed rating of my tires 235/80-16 and they are actually 123km/h which equates to 75mph believe it or not. I have about 3,000 miles on them now and no signs of any problems. I looked for recalls and nothing. I'm not throwing caution to the wind, but 6 tires in that size would be very expensive and mine are nearly new.

This is what tire blow out can do. This picture doesn't show the floor damage to the slide. Was over $4,000 in total damage. After this I decided on 17.5 tires. Best upgrade you can do. Wasn't cheap but blown tires & damage to my rig is a thing of the past.
