5th Wheel-to-Gooseneck Adapter

Brand new to 5th wheel toy hauler. Have not even picked up from dealer yet. (2018 Voltage 3605) My question is, does anyone use or recommend using a Gooseneck adapter to pull RV? I am in market for new truck, my son-in-law has a Dodge dully with gooseneck pin I can use for now. Just want to know if investing in this $450 option is recommended?
Thanks Andy

Most RV companies will void your warranty if you use one. They put a lot of stress where the kingpin is connected to the frame. I think the Reese Goosebox is endorsed by Lippert and will not void your warranty tho.

Good point, I will have to look into the warranty part of it. Anyone using one that can comment on how they like or dislike it?

I used a gooseneck adapter on my last camper for one season - the camper developed cracks in the fiberglass telling me I was over stressing the frame underneath. The cracks were where the basement stopped an the upper portion (bedroom) started.

I immediately went back to 5th wheel setup.

I wish I still had the pics to provide but it was 5 or 6 years ago.
