Getting the companion installed tomorrow. They seem to be the only ones after all the research that can guarantee a good fit for the 2014. I have to drive 120 miles to get r done but thats fine as long as the ice on the roads melts.

Thanks for the replies folks...

I wondered how it all worked out?

Also, By chance do you know what measurements they set the hitch at to fit your trailer? We just received the b&w companion 25,000lb hitch for ours, and we have to put it together, and we were trying to determine which height the pivot arms should be?
Thanks!

I have mine set at the lowest setting. Even at that setting I had to adjust the pin to its lowest setting. My Ram 3500 is 4 wheel drive and took a little tweaking to get trailer as level as possible.

Had the same issue with my '14 Ram 2500, which shares the same frame/suspension as the 3500. I originally requested the Reese setup when I bought the V 3605, but through some research my dealer informed me the B&W was the only gig in town right now that has a true setup for the '14 Rams. They installed a B&W Companion Slider setup (regular bed) and I have no complaints. It's one bolt that holds the skid in the bed, and a lever in the fender well that releases it. I will add there is one part to the overall system that's a little tough to get, B&W is really back logged with so many Ram orders that their a few weeks behind.

Great forum there. I still go there all the time and I haven't owned a Ram in 3 years. Good trucks.

Have you checked on B&W Turnover Ball Hitch. If you can install one it opens up a lot of options for fifth wheel hitches. It's what I use with my 3605.

I installed the B&W Turnover Ball on my '14 Ram 3500 also, and used an older B&W Companion hitch set-up. Only problem I encountered was that the pin ended up behind the rear axle, and we experienced some occasional 'chucking'. B&W has since redesigned the Companion base to allow better pin placement.

I ordered a new base. It's waiting with the truck in Milwaukee. I'll install it Sunday and pick the 3605 up at the dealer (warranty stuff) on Monday. Hopefully moving the pin forward of the rear axle will help.

The B&W products seem rock-solid from all reports.

+1 for the Companion from me as well. My Chevy 2500HD had the Turnover ball with it and when moved to an F-350, I again got the Companion for the factory 5th wheel pucks, still used the original B&W hitch from my first setup, they work great and look good too....and cheaper than what Ford was asking for their 5th wheel (Reese?).

Good luck.
