Pantry Facing

Hey everyone, New member here!...I have a question about my 2012 Dutchman Lite BH....The facing on my pantry has cracked and actually busted where the hinge was screwed in at the factory. Dutchman stepped up and said they would replace it, but my downfall is I purchased it from Camper World and they want an ungodly amount in labor to fix it {$1275?}, so I'm wondering if this is something I can do myself without busting all the molding? I would appreciate any advice.

Re: Pantry Facing

Why won't the dealer you bought it from honor the warranty.....which should include both parts and labor??

Re: Pantry Facing

We bought from CW and haven't paid a penny for any warranty work.
Are they saying this isn't a manufacturing defect?

Re: Pantry Facing

They are wanting to charge Dutchman for 12 hours labor on a job that Dutchman says shouldn't take over 2 hours. Mean while I have a new camper with a busted pantry. The Colfax, NC Camper World told me they weren't responsiable for what they sell and it's the manufactures problem not theirs So I guess I'm stuck doing it myself unless I'm willing to pay 10 hours labor out of my pocket and I'm not.

Re: Pantry Facing

Camper World didn't do themselves any favors with this type of publicity!

Re: Pantry Facing

EJ,

Do you get Trailer Life Magazine? I like to read the articles in there where they help out people who have issues with their trailers and get nowhere with the manufacturers or the dealerships. Try looking into that. Maybe a bigger animal throwing them around will do the trick...

Dave.

Thanks knesdad, No I haven't heard of it, but I'll check it out. I still feel like its going to be a do it yourself project?

I thought the same thing. This is exactly the type of thing Trailer Life has been very successful with arbitrating. I'm surprized that this is the attitude of Camping World and think it might be just one employee's opinion. If not, shame on Camping World. This should be between CW and Dutchmen.

Re: Pantry Facing

Placed an order with Camping World today. Perfect service as usual. Shock of shocks, I got asked to fill out a survey of how I rated my order, their website and "other opinions". They actually have a place where you can leave a summary comment. Pasted these postings to their survey. Who ever reads the surveys at Camping World needs to know they may have some employees who need a Customer Service refresher course. ;-)

Re: Pantry Facing

EJ - We hear you and are looking into the issue. You should be hearing from Colfax directly. Apologize for your experience at Camping World and I trust we will resolve this for you.

That's how the management should react when they hear of a concern. No company is perfect, but how they handle the concern shows merit.

Re: Pantry Facing

Thank you Mr. Rahe! ….I’ve been busy the past week and haven’t had the opportunity to check the forum so needless to say I was scratching my head when after 2 weeks I received a voicemail from the service manager at the Colfax store, especially since he couldn’t take the time to meet with me in the past. It actually took a few minutes before it hit me to check the forum...When I made my initial post I had given up on Camping World’s customer service and was honestly seeking advice on repairing this myself, so your involvement in this matter has really surprised me and once again I would like to again say “Thank You”. Hopefully in the near future I will be able to update this thread with some positive remarks on the conclusion of this matter, but I can’t help but precede with some doubt?
