3605 voltage Recliner won't release

My new 2015 3605 recliner sofa has one section that will not release, I can pull then handle but to no avail, any comments suggestions or known problems? I cannot see the release if I open the other three seats as it is the end unit on the left.

Thanks,
Ken

We had the same problem with ours...found it in the PDI. I know they fixed it, but not sure what they did to it to correct it. Ours was in the 2 seater theatre seating. I know they didn't have to order parts for it so maybe a simple adjustment?

We had the same issue when we picked up ours. It was the section that was next to the stairs to the bedroom and the dealer told us it was done on purpose so that someone would not run into it coming down the steps. He said the factory bent part of the frame underneath to keep it from extending and we could "unbend" it to make it extend.

Sick of people trying to protect me.

So did you fix it? Did the dealer fix it? Or are you living in a Safe Zone?

One section of ours did it in our 3950...found on PDI. Once they got the foot part out, they used lube to make it move, have not had any problems since.

The one at the bottom of our steps works just fine, sounds like a dealer feeding a line of BS.

Have you tried pulling the handle and pulling the foot section out at the same time. Maybe it is spring issue. If you could get it open that way it would be allot easier to trouble shoot the problem.

I told them not to worry about it....I haven't done anything with it so far. We don't use that section much. I agree, lawyers are ruling this country

Not budging

I attempted again, pulling at the footrest also. During pdi, I had all 4 recliners fully extend and commented to the wife that it would work as a bed if I made her mad enough. The massager and heater still work. Hate to deal with the dealer, more time that it's not available and the weather is getting nice now.
Other ideas appreciated, don't want to pull the belly of the slide to remove chair to to troubleshoot but it's looking like it at the moment.

The chairs are not removed by pulling the belly pan and looking up. Each is held in place with 4 screws. To remove the screws you need either a right angle drill, a stubby phillips screw driver, or a ratchet with a phillips bit adapted in bit holder.

The fact that you can not get to the screws is your main problem.

Looking at your floor plan you don't have arm rests between the chairs. That is good.

Open your third chair from the left and watch what takes place as you open the second chair from the left. Then with the second chair open is what is not happing with the chair that is stuck. Should not be all that hard to do.

I was just in my trailer. If you remove the chair to the right of the problem chair, you have (limited) access to the screws on the problems chair. I don't know what the problem is or how to fix it, but it is a start.

Arlan,
I have gone through those efforts, although I did not notice the wood screws holding the chair in place, first look I thought it was bolted through, but now see its the rubber floor pads I saw. I still could only see two and one is out of reach, looking at my recliners it is the chair on the right end, go figure the release mechanism and pull are on the wall side unlike the other three and extremely difficult to see let alone reach and feel blind. Its time to call it a weekend and try again when I am free.
Thanks again.
Ken

Yeah, I understand. It is frustrating. If you are determined not to take it to the dealer. I really think that by removing the chair next to the problem chair, you will be able to remove the problem chair. What to do with it at that point I really do not know.

Good luck.
