tire weather checking

Other then tire covers, do you use any tire protectant like armorall to help minimize tire weather checking? Any recommendations? Mentioning tire covers, What would you recommend. I was looking at the Classic individual slip on type.

Very nice mesh snap-on type.Sun Pal.com. I think the telephone number is 602.279.5219. Takes up a lot less space when you put them away and look a lot better. I will be ordering them myself.

Sunpal website shows nothing and doesn't mention tire covers. Do have any pics of their product? Interested

I took a picture of their label on a unit when I was in Florida in January (didn't have my unit yet). That was all they had on it. Maybe an internet search? Hopefully not a dead end. They looked really nice and I want a set. Please let me know what you find. When I get some time, I'll check also.

303 protectant a few times a year and you don't need to mess around with covers.

Sounds interesting, think I will try it. I did some further research and found that 303 is water based, so will not harm tires. Unlike armoral, which is silicone based and looks good at application, but over a period of time will dry out the natural lubricants in the rubber and do more harm then good.

I use 303 on my tires, use it to wipe down the RV, and use their quick detailer on my truck...they make a great product.

Another vote for 303 we use it on small airplanes, need to get my camper coated... AFTER I get the black streaks off of it.

I found a similar item at Welcome to Sunpro, Manufacturer of RV Shade Products, then go to "Tire/Fender Covers" on menu at left. They look similar to the Sun Pal ones I saw, but I can't attest to them since I haven't seen them. Much nicer than the vinyl ones. Hope it helps.
Rusty
PS If I find the original ones I saw, I'll re-post.

lcv800 - thanks for all the info - my rig is only in the sun when it is being used - I was able to put up a building for storing it at home...
