Diamond Plate Polishing

I have a Weatherguard diamond plated tool box on the bed of my F-350 Platinum dually, which is one of my prides and joys. How do you polish diamond plate that is exposed to the elements? I used to put Turtle Wax Ice wax on it, as t was clear and didn't leave any white residue (even though it didn't hold up well, it was better than nothing). I tried my buffing wheel on it but it chews up the pad. Any secrets? Thanks in advance.

IIRC the WeatherGard boxes are clear coated. Depending on the age you might have to strip them to get them polished back up. I had a full set on my 1997 F-150 work truck, that came off of an older truck. Danged company sold them with the truck in 2006... I wanted them boxes!

As far as polishing you will need a soft flap wheel, looks like it is made out of a bunch of mop strings. It will still get eaten up, just not as fast.

Thanks Aaron. It still looks good but I want to keep it that way. I'll get the flap wheel.

Metal Polish

I just learned about this metal polish from one of my aviation forums: Our Products - California Custom Products Inc.
