If your A/C is on then you have 120 volt power and can use a fan. They make really small fans. The OP said this floor fan takes up to much room. They make really small fans and besides, they make really small fans.

Not all of us have bedrooms the size of a small apartment
Its not really strange, The wife and I like a lot of airflow while we sleep. My vent in the bedroom is prewired with 120V for a A/C, but there is no need since my trailer stayed pretty cool even in 100 degree humid days.
I just thought if the ceiling fan mode would be a good idea, if it actually made a nice breeze. We rarely sleep with the windows open due to camp fire smoke an my wife's allergies.
