Fan-Tastic Fan

I am looking at putting in fan in my bedroom. My question is can these fans act as a ceiling fan in reverse mode with the vent cover closed? We like to have airflow while we sleep even with the A/C on. If the fan-tastic fan doesn't do this is there anything that will. We don't have a lot of room in the bedroom, and the floor fan just takes up to much space and gets in the way.

Maxxair makes one called Maxxfan Deluxe that can also be used as a ceiling fan. It also has a rain cover that opens and closes automatically when you turn on the fan. Or you can use the fan with the cover closed as a ceiling fan. One model comes with a remote control. I've thought about putting the remote control one in my garage since the ceiling is so high I wouldn't be able to reach the switch normally located on most fans.

Yes, we put the Maxxfan 4500K in our camper. It has rain sensor, thermostat and a remote. Over all we are very happy with it. We live in Colorado so it's pretty dry here but while in California we had problems with dew and humidity tripping the rain sensor. Some mornings the sensor would not dry off until 10-11AM. You can still open the vent manually but just be aware of this.

Maxxfan wouldn't run if the vent cover is down. I have one in my Teton & my Voltage they work very well.
Were you aware they make 12v ceiling fans ? I have one in a box but still haven't installed it yet.

The Maxxfan Deluxe will run with the vent down. They call it "ceiling fan mode."

No I wasn't aware of 12V models, but I don't think it would be practical in the bedroom. I could only imagine getting smoked in the forehead when I forgot about it. I am 6'1'' and I don't know the ceiling height, but there isn't to much room to play with.

Our 4500K is the deluxe model and it does run with the cover close as was said it is a "ceiling fan" mode.

I will third the MaxxFan Deluxe, they are great units. I have had them in the past, plan on putting on in on my Coleman. And yes they have a ceiling fan mode.

Learn something new. But as my MaxxFans are in the bathroom why would I want to run it with the vent down.

If you read his post he was looking for more air movement in the bedroom with the A/C running. It's a strange idea no matter how you look at it.

If your A/C is on then you have 120 volt power and can use a fan. They make really small fans. The OP said this floor fan takes up to much room. They make really small fans and besides, they make really small fans.

Almost forgot to mention, they make really small fans.

We have an Endless Breeze 12 volt fan for boondocking and a Vornado under cabinet fan for when we have power. We do run the AC if necessary when plugged up, which is 98% of the time. If mamma ain't happy ain't NOBODY happy! BTW when I get around to installing the MaxxAir it will be going in the bathroom, somehow I don't think I will be using the ceiling fan function either.

Not all of us have bedrooms the size of a small apartment
Its not really strange, The wife and I like a lot of airflow while we sleep. My vent in the bedroom is prewired with 120V for a A/C, but there is no need since my trailer stayed pretty cool even in 100 degree humid days.

I just thought if the ceiling fan mode would be a good idea, if it actually made a nice breeze. We rarely sleep with the windows open due to camp fire smoke an my wife's allergies.
