Toilet Hot Water

Took our '10 Aerolite 21qs out for our first trip with it this past weekend. We went close to home so we could try out all the systems and work out any bugs that I didn't get to in the backyard. Everything went really well, but I did notice when flushing the toilet there was some steam rising from the tank. I kept flushing and felt the water supply line in the back of the toilet and sure enough it is supplied with hot water. This is the first bathroom we have had in a camper, and this doesn't seem right to me. Is this supposed to be this way?

Were you contacted to the camp ground water? If you were not, then they may have plumbed your water hoses wrong? In summer weather, some camp ground water gets warm, but if your getting steam, I think the water hoses are wrong....

No it shouldn't be that way. Will it hurt anything no. Living here in the desert we don't even need hot water much in the summer time. Comes right out of the tap warm.

We were hooked up to the campground water. However the cold water side was very cold as it is still getting down into the 40's at night here. When running the hot water in the sink I noticed the steam too. And touching the supply line was very hot.

You might want to take the temperature of that water. Steam in the sink, if inside, makes me think something is not quite right coupled with the fact the toilet is plumbed to the hot side.

Doesn't surprise me...

I had a house that probably was plumbed by some guys from Dutchmen both my washing machine and toilet were plumbed wrong. They had the hot and cold on the washing machine switched and I had a toilet with hot water flush.

I would check the temp on the hot water, you want it hot, but not hot enough to seriously scald someone.

Kinda reminds me of those paper signs they used to put on toilets in hotels. "Sanitized for your protection".
