The Cost of Propane

For years I have been swapping propane tanks when needed. Usually $20 to $24/swap. Today I brought my used-once new tank from our new TT in for a swap, and the hardware guy told me the tank was brand new, and I would be better off with a refill. This (Ace Hardware) store charges $17 for a swap, but only $10 for a refill! That's less than 1/2 what I'm used to paying, and I don't end up with an older tank. You can bet I'll go back there again!

I have refilled tanks for years...
Always been cheaper. Only cheaper way is to snag a couple of tanks from the rack at work.

Bretz RV in Boise Idaho is where I got my Aspen Trail. As a customer of theirs, I am eligible to purchase propane for $1.00 per gallon! Can't beat it!

Wow, that must be close to cost for them. I have my own refilling station and my last bulk tank fill was 2.09 a gallon. It is amazing how these stores jack the prices up on propane. When we lost power recently, I needed 2 tanks for backup and could not fill them because we didn't have our generator yet, $45 for 2 swapped tanks.
