Hello everybody, On another tread I started folks were recommending the Rhino dump system. I went into my local dealer and they said the Rino comes out of the box with a type of grease on the hose to keep the connections from leaking. Regreasing every dump seems like a big mess as it will collect dirt and such. For those that use the Rhino system is this necessary? Does anyone have other suggestions of another good system that doesn't need greased?

Yes that's the one I was talking about. Have you taken apart the fittings? That's where the sales associate said the grease comes pre-applied to make a seal between the fitting and the hose.

I believe that the fittings works on the principle of compression. You have to make sure the fittings are tight. Once they are tight, they stay tight as well. I have never had any trouble with mine nor anyone else I know. (none of us carry grease for them, nor have I ever heard anything about grease for them.)
To me it sounds like the salesman wasn't that informed. Take a look at amazon and read the reviews. I would recommend these!
I have the Rhino dump system, and routinely disassemble the fittings for storage. There is indeed a greasy substance on the tube where the fittings screw in. I would say that most of the grease on my hose has come off due to repeated removal of the fittings, and yet I rarely have any leaks when dumping. Like mentioned before, I screw them on good and tight, and screw the lock ring on good and tight. I'll occasionally get a little drip, but it only happens when I dump a full grey tank (60 gal). I believe this much pressure will simply find a way out. I have though of regressing the ends (I was thinking of using Vasoline), but I'm sure I'd manage to get it all over my gloves every time I reassembled the hose for use.

I guess I am glad I made a storage tube for mine - no disassembly and contains the fitting still on the hoses and two hoses assembled and ready for use. Post #136 here: http://www.dutchmenowners.org/forums...ds-666-14.html
