Maximum Water Pressure

Just wondering what is the SAFEST maximum water pressure I can run thru my city water hook-up on my Voltage? I'm pretty good when I'm using the pump, not great, but okay, however when I hook up to city and use my pressure safety valve (not sure what it's set at, but once I find out I find out the right setting, I'll buy a good adjustable valve), it's not passable for my wife to rinse her hair. Thanks for the help.

Thanks. I wonder what the off the rack fixed pressure settings ones are at CW. I don't see any markings on it. I'm off to Amazon now for an adjustable one.

The cheapie one I had was preset to 40psi I think. I have seen more than one of those fail and do plumbing damage, so I switched to a good adjustable one with a gauge.

I think off the shelf you can 2 different ones, 45# and 55#. They should be stamped as such!

The cheap ones from WM, CW and such are likely 40 psi. IMHO 50 psi should be fine, just keep an eye on things until you have run it a few times. I had one of the cheapies and it was actually regulating the pressure closer to ~30 psi. The adjustable ones are definitely the way to go.
