Kitchen Sink Pullout Spray Nozzle Leaks

I have a 2012 Denali 29RKS. The original kitchen sink equipment is, I might say, a rather poor quality one-handle pullout faucet.

On our first trip, the handle broke off, so we used vice-grips until I could do a permanent fix (so far) with auto body epoxy.

The latest problem is the pullout spray nozzle leaks profusely at the connection to the hose. I am hesitant at this point to remove the spray nozzle. There is no information in the owners manual as to make and manufacturer, so I am not able to call them. I have included a picture of the fixture.

To dis-attach the spray nozzle from the hose, does it unscrew, and if so, at what point in the connection? If I dis-attach successfully, is there a replacement nozzle available that can be securely attached, leak free?

If it is not feasible to repair the pullout nozzle only, then I will need to replace the entire fixture. Does anybody have any experience with this? What mfr make and model replacements were preferred? What kind of tools will I need to do work in the confined space behind the sink? Do I need to have tiny little hands and arms and lay prostrate on my back?

Randy, it shouldn't be too difficult a job to replace the faucet. Camping World will probably have a replacement but more than likely it will be the entire thing. If you want higher quality you might try Lowes and some of the major brands. Connections and hole patterns should be the same and if not you can return them. As for big hands, little hands, you're going to need to reach under the sink and operate some basic tools. Should be as simple as maybe a 9/16 or 5/8 wrench and maybe a channel lock pliers. Let us know how it goes. There's lots of help here.

I think I'm going to change over my bathroom faucets to single handle ones. Lowes or Home Depot is were I'll look for the style & price. Camping World prices are just to high for these items.

Should be able to unscrew the PEX fittings from the faucet with only one thumb and index finger.

They aren't usually tightened with a wrench because they have finger wings on the connector and gaskets inside.

Thanks everyone. I'll feel better with a brand new quality fixture. Something that I can count on when I am doing my recreating.

Randy,
I have the same faucet in my kitchen and two days after my one year of ownership mine also started leaking where the hose attaches onto the faucet (it does screw on). I figured that mabe I had not gotten it blown out and it had frozen. I found a replacement nozzle online and installed it--problem solved for one day . I went to home depot and got a washer assortment pack and finally found one that solved the leak when I put it between the hose and faucet nozzle. After having two go bad and seeing your post I think we have been bit by Dutchman trying to save a few dollars.
When this fails again I will just replace the entire faucet. I too am hesitant to try and replace the faucet itself because of the lack of access.

I replaced our faucet with one that was taller and has a nice arc to it. Got rid of the spray hose altogether...
