So the water heater ignitor doesn't go through it's clicking cycle as it tries to light the gas?

Check the fuse on the control board. Looking at your image, the fuse is right below where the brown/blue/green/red wire harness plugs into it, to the right of the pressure relief valve. I popped that fuse on my board this year and it behaved similarly. No reaction at the water heater when I turned it on via control board inside the camper. I never tried the manual lighting though, so I'm not sure if it is the exact same behavior.

Thanks for the reply, my dilemna was solved, it was a faulty control board. Put the new one in and it fired up INSTANTLY, it's a beautiful thing.

On the last two days of a 20 day trip, the gas side of the water heater started acting up. Getting the DSI fault, after a couple attempts at lighting. Made it home,
searched internet, where people suggested EVERYTHING! Emailed Atwood, she replied right away, suggested control board, and gave me the correct part number, based on my model number. $129 from Amazon, through Atwood, arrived at 12:05, project completed at 12:20pm. Works great. My problem was I was looking for some kind of sensor to tell the "computer" that the flame was on. There is only the igniter probe, which is called the probe/sensor. Somehow, through heat, vibration, or noise, it "just knows." Ours was built in 2014, and failed five years later. I can live with that. BTW, I take showers with both gas and electric heat on, and never run out of hot water!

Mine and a friend both had bad control boards on the WH. I purchased my RV in 2018, friend too.
