Black tank backup

Has anyone had a problem with their Kodiak 288bh toilet backing up? We are very experienced campers and have never had this problem with our other campers. The first time out it happened. Any suggestions?

Is the toilet sitting over top of the tank?

Not sure. When you step on pedal and look into toilet , where toilet is mounted to floor, it's only 1 1/2" deep. Is there an elbow that leads into tank?

Ugg. Most toilets are directly over the tank and a backup is impossible. Yours sounds like it may be off centered and has an elbow and short length of pipe that leads to the tank. You'll probably have to invest in a cheap drain snake(or a metal closet hanger) to clear it out. I'm sure they probably connected it with a 1 1/2" sink drain pipe which is not suitable for a toilet. Good luck

I'm assuming you haven't been camping for 2 weeks and the tank is just full?
