Black & grey water drains leaking????

Is it common for the manual slide drains valves to let some water seep through when completely closed or should they remain completely dry on the outlet side?
I have a new 2014 Dutchmen trailer and all the valves let some seep through, the longer time sitting the more spills out when taking off the twist caps. I have visually inspected the seals for any type of debris and they look clean and no apparent damage. All three valves are Bristol. Any thoughts on this?

No they should not seep. I would consider trying to put a bit of Vaseline or similar light grease around the valve blade and see if that helps. Another alternative and a strongly recommended one is to put a twist on blade valve on in place of the cap. I also like having a clear extension right at the twist off cap so I can see what is in there PRIOR to removing the cap.

I put these on the end of the sewer connections in case the valve did not close tightly. Termination Cap with Hose Connector - Valterra T1020-1 - Sewer Fittings & Adapters - Camping World
That way I can open and drain any fluid into the end of the sewer hose before opening the sewer connection and connecting the drain hose.

I go a step beyond Aaron with this all-in-one device. Clear elbow, gate valve, AND flush connection. I hook it up at each campground, and put a "Y" in the water take-off. The "Y" then feeds both my white hose for camper water, and a green hose which I will use at disconnect time to back-flush the tanks prior to leaving. Believe me, you'll want to back-flush the black tank several times to get all the paper debris out.

Haven't gotten a Flush King yet... but it is on the endless list.
