I have a 2011 Denali which I store beside my house. It is plugged in all winter, and I have been leaving the battery in the unit. I believe that the converter charges the battery but I am not sure whether the factory supplied converter will overcharge the battery or if it is a "smart" charger and will not allow battery to "boil". Anyone know what type of converter is supplied with these units? I suppose I could remove the panels and have a look, but I thought I would ask first.
I know that some people recommend removing batteries and store them inside and then charge once a month or connect to trickle charger. I can do that if needed.
Thanks.
hey I've got an 08 fifth is your unit on 30 or 50 amp service mine is 30 the power inverter is a wf9865 from wfco it is in the side locker behind the fuse panel. It works to power the trailer and a 3 stage charging system for the batteries
Thanks for the replies. Mine is 30 amp. And I have left it plugged in all winter. I figured it might be a 3 stage charger. I think that mine is accessible from basement storage area. Will have to pull all the "stuff" out and check accessibility. Weather should start to improve soon, so we can hit the road again.
