Officially it stands for World Friendship Company... No clue where they came up with that bright idea!

They are the "industry leader"... because they are cheap. I called a buddy of mine that works at a dealer and he said the best bet was to not even worry with the warranty. They have gone to bat for a couple of their customers and it ended up taking upwards of 12 weeks to get the replacement unit. Seems their modus operandi is to automatically disclaim all warranties first, then if someone pushes they might allow it after all. My buddy said they had one unit that smoked and quit on the initial PDI and they ended up sticking one in off their shelf to sell the trailer, eventually they got a replacement. Not the type of company or product I want to deal with.

Got my shipping confirmation from Best Converters. Called them at 8am EDT this morning, (forgot they are based in ID). They called me back around 1030 am EDT, took my order, it went out on FedEx ground today and will be at my house on Wednesday of next week. Not too shabby.

Got the new converter installed... sort of. Got the electrics all hooked up and everything works. Just have to cut the hole a 1/4" bigger in both directions. And being a Dutchmen product I had to run across some more spectacular work. Apparently they don't know the difference between inch-pounds and foot-pounds when it comes to torque on the breaker set screws. Every one of them was deformed from over tightening. Fortunately I have a pack of spare set screws left over from somewhere. Got everything wired up, plugged it in and voila! 13.78 at the battery. So back in business, got a trip planned the first weekend of October in conjunction with some Highland Games. Unless I manage to sneak away sooner.

Interesting to note that the PD comes with two heavy duty 12 volt circuits, where the WFCO had one that was shared. Got plenty of expansion space in this panel too. Two spare 120 volt circuits and 4 extra 12 volt. Got plans for one of the heavy duty 12 volt.
