taking batteries out for winter

Hi
While my rig sits at a storage facility only short distance away I always used to take my 12 volt battery home when trailer was winterized and put on a tender in garage.
Now with the 3305 and the 5500 Onan I have a question.
My rig has 2 v volts in compartment beside the genny and wired in to trailer and genny. The batteries are about 60-70 pounds each and don't really want to remove but would like too after I winterize here in a week or so.........BUT...... with the on board genny it says it should be run a hour or so once a month. The dilemma is how to do this if no battery is hooked up.
Don't think the truck pigtail power would work?????
Not sure what I will do?? Oh, and it gets cold here in winter!!!!!
I don't like leaving lots of fuel in the tank but need too for genny. I know the condensation issue can arise. I put 5 gallons in last week with fuel stabilizer.

What do some of you do in this case? Appreciate replys.

I leave my batteries in year round and use a portable solar charger to keep them topped up. If I get real energetic I will sweep the snow off the roof mounted panels as well.

I've been doing this for more years than I can remember, the only thing I have to do is check the fluid level once a month. I've never had a problem with batteries using solar chargers and my trailer is ready to go any time my wife decides it's time to visit the kids.

If your trailer is stored in a secure location this may work for you.
