Rv battery charging

Hello,
I have a quick question. I have a 2013 Dutchmen 317qbs and when I'm home and plug it in I keep blowing the breaker or ground fault for outlet. I have owned other trailers and never had this problem.. I use an adapter from rv cord to extension cord.
Does this trailer or newer trailers only use 30 amp.
Im also not using AC or anything.
Thanks for the help.

Sounds like it might be a wiring issue, especially if you are popping a breaker. Try a plug on a different circuit, then use plug a tester into the trailer plugs and see if anything comes up bad. FWIW I have a dedicated 30 amp plug (actually more than one) at home. Could be the adapter too, but that is not normal.

I would turn off all the breakers in the trailer. Plug it in and see if that pops the GFI. If yes it is probably in the cord some place. If no then turn trailer breakers on one at a time and see if that pops the gfi. This will help you will narrow down the problem.

Love the trailer, hate the dealer and manufacturer.

We have a 2014 Dutchman and I leave it plugged into the side of our house whenever we are home. It's got a 30AMP cord running out of the camper and I use an adapter to plug it into 110V at the house. Never had a problem.
Sorry I can not be of much help trouble shooting but you do have a problem. It should work.

Are you plugging into a GFCI receptacle or a receptacle on a GFIC circuit?

I have two GFCI recepacles outside, one in the front and one in the back of the house. I never had a problem with the receptacle out front for 8+ years plugging in my Airstream.

I get my new trailer and all of a sudden the receptacle at the front blows when ever I plug the trailer in to it. The back GFCI receptacle works fine, so I am assuming the the receptacle out front has gone bad.

I haven't swapped out the front receptacle so I can't say for sure that it's bad and the cause of the problem.

Like others have mentioned try another curcuit and see if that works.
