50amp circuit breaker short!

Lost the 50amp circuit breaker on the bus above batteries on 2013 3200 voltage toyhauler. I switched the bad primary (dead) with the good 50amp above it and got everything working again. I can't figure out what the red 8 gauge red wire feeds now that has the bad breaker. The red lead go's out through the passenger side propane compartment and up through the wall. I would think it feeds something but I haven't found it yet. The converter is charging to 13.8, the slides work, the leveling system works. I'm missing something! !!!!!!

I would think that #8 red wire feeds to the battery shut off switch & then to the converter. That's how it is on my V3605

If you have a meter DMM I would lift the lead that is outbound of bad breaker. Going to 12 volt panel. At the 12 volt panel look for 0 volts circuits. Don't know if bad fuse light will illuminate or not. If not there try with meter at the hitch pin. You might with unhooked wire put a home incandescent lamp 60watt between wire and ground place meter on Ohms look for about 16 ohms on wire at hitch pin. I just went out to my unit and looked found a number 8 wire going to a junction box at hitch pin.
Good luck. Then go eat some Posole enjoy.

Eightydo,
I'm at hitch pin; the red 8 gauge is here. It's connected to a brown and white 14 gauge, a black 14 gauge, and a black 12 gauge. I plugged in to the truck and all the lights work. I'm guessing that the red is for the electric brakes? To check red back to bus bar; continuity should be done how????

Take the red #8 off breaker connect a known resistance ((60watt Lamp)Light bulb) between wire and ground(frame). Test continuity at pin box between red wire and frame. you should see the known resistance.

I'm going to replace the 50amp circuit breaker. I may have shorted it originally when setting up my solar panels. An incidental short to the main battery breaker relay perhaps. I get back to you shortly.
Thanks for the patients.

Hey thanks again! I have all the breakers back in with the one new 50amp at the first imput (battery) position. If anything blows this new one it would behoove me to check the battery cut off switch for a short.
Thanks again!

FYI, the WFCO converter has two dc fuses mounted outside the case on the end panel by the blower. A test light will show an open. good luck.

Put new 50 amp relay switch in last month and it held. The fuses were good. I have three near the fan.
Thanks!
