Marine strating/deep cycle batteries are not a true RV deep cycle, they are a trade off between a regular starting battery and atrue deep cycle.
You can find deep cycle 12v and run them in parallel, or as Golden says run 2-6v (golf cart batteries) in series. Same space used, but more reserve capacity with the 6v's.
You will find that people that have been around the block a few times are running the 6v's.
