Magnum Inverter gone bad

So went to the NASCAR race at MIS last weekend. Arrived on site, unhitched and leveled. Started up the Onan QD7500 as normal. Let her run and idle down. Flipped the breaker on and the gen ramped up and immediately shut down - tried this several times. Code 14 - frequency issue. Called Cummins and they indicated either the transfer switch or the generator controller ($1700 +/-). Luckily, there was a site available with power so I could enjoy my weekend. Fast forward to Monday and troubleshooting at home. I recalled that the inverter panel read "inverting" when I tried it but no power to the coach as well. Before bypassing the transfer switch to isolate the issue, I decided to remove the inverter from the circuit. All was well...

So I am back to the stock converter and all is working good - pissed about this expensive inverter not working as it also controlled my generator automatic start and etc, but at least I didn't spend the bucks on the generator control board. Darlington - here we come!

Glad you got it sorted out. Going to look at the Limited this morning to see if it will follow me home.
BTW, your last sentence is very hurtful. I'm gonna have to speak to a counselor and get a new coloring book.

Don, make sure and call Sensata/Magnum 425-353-8833 they are great with warranty service and will work with you. Mine went out and they overnighted a new one. They can also take a out of warranty repair, is what I heard. Keep us posted please.

So my onan 5500 shuts down after a few minutes or when the ?inverter/converter gets enough energy? to run things, then when turning it back on the gen runs but blinks and does not supply electricity/ to the coach. I looked up the code for the gen (can't remember the exact code at the time of this post) but it pointed me to the control board replacement. I had it work though one time since the problem started when I had the gen running first and shore power alos supplied then pulled the shore power and the a/c maintained making me think it is not a control board but actually the whatever converts the energy (sorry not sure if this is the inverter/ converter). any direction? before I just order the control board...
