Hi everyone electrical question

I have this 2post rectangle thing that is mounted on the tongue of my trailer, the positive lead from the battery is on one post then on the other post the cable goes towards the back of the trailer, does anyone know what that is.

it's probably going to the inverter inside the RV.

That would probably be the service panel or converter. The converter would charge the battery when AC power is connected. The service panel has circuit breakers and fuses.
An inverter converts 12, 24, 36 volt battery power to AC. An inverter if present would probably be connected through the service panel to the battery.
