Do you know what this does?

I've noticed these located at various locations on the frame of my trailer. I always thought they were 12 Volt connection points but a few weeks ago I discovered that it's more than just a connection point. What do you think it is??
Drat, no image. I'll try later on.

I would say that is a circuit breaker, perhaps automatic reset, perhaps not. The big wires are the clue and then the two nubs on the cover is another.

Might be a breaker...Looks like a splice to me.
Also looks to have a flip open cover, opens on the right, tethered on the left.
If so, open it up and show us what's inside.

My money says it is this, without the mounting tab, maybe.

You are all correct. It's a self-resetting circuit breaker (under a weather-resistant cover) and it is found in multiple places around the chassis where access to 12 Volts is required. They are there to protect the wiring in case something shorts out. They come in different current handling capacities. The ones for the stabilizer jack motors are small ones rated for 6 Amps. The copper colored screw should go back to the battery and the other one is to the load.
I bring this up in case you also had seen these and were wondering what they were for.

Oh, so it was more of a trick question rather than a true inquiry?

Kinda. I thought that I wouldn't be the only one curious about these so I asked the kind of question a teacher would ask a class as a lead-in. Hope you didn't mind my asking it.
