Battery only charges when connected to the truck

Switched to 2 6v batteries and now they will only charge when connected to the truck. They show full and charging on the panel inside but when I run the generator it shows that they are only 2/3 full. Can’t find any popped breakers or fuses. Is it possible that there is a fuse inside of the converter? Need help please

Problem solved ended up finding 2 blown 40 amp fuses after posting this. Tried to delete post but couldn’t figure out how

Those only blow if you hook the batteries up backwards. Reverse polarity.
