Battery Disconnect/Exterior LED Lights

Good evening. I need some help before I drain my batteries. While I know from previous posts that the blue light for the exterior stereo switch by the front door always stays on, how do I shut off the blue LED lights on the cap and underneath. I can't find a switch and I don't know how I even turned them on! Second issue: I have a dual battery set-up. There is a red knob by the batteries to disconnect power. Despite turning it, I still have power running to some portions of the unit, like my generator and those damn blue lights! Any quick responses would be appreciated. Unrelated but curious; are we supposed to have blue LED lights on both awnings or just the front one?
Thanks.
Rusty

Rusty,
The quickest way to disconnect ALL power is to pull the negative battery cable. As far as the other questions you are going to have to wait on some other owners with similar units.

Thanks Aaron. As a desperation measure, I may have to drive out to the storage yard and do just that. Kind of a PITA as they are covered and screwed down, but better than ruined batteries. Thanks.

Bugging the heck out of me. Back to the storage yard. Pulled every fuse but still stayed on! Finally went to the LINC and discovered that is where they are turned on and off. Crisis diffused. Still can't figure out why the fuses didn't shut it off and why red knob battery disconnect doesn't kill all the power from the batteries. Ideas?

Rusty,
I am confused on the battery disconnects too. On all of my old trailers the only thing that was wired past the disconnect was the brakes, that was a legal requirement. Now they apparently wire it how ever the hell they want with no real rhyme or reason. Another thing I found interesting is when doing some 12 volt lights on my unit is that they did not bother to balance the load between the circuits. I have one that apparently only has a single light on it, yet another one has 3 lights and the stove hood on it. But being Dutchmen it is kind of expected.

Unless I can figure it out, I'm just going to install an old time throw switch on both of the batteries. That way I'm sure they're off. Thanks again for the insight Aaron.

Are they dual 12V batteries in parallel? How are they parallel wired? Does the existing disconnect remove both batteries from the circuit or just one?

I'll check when I run out there this afternoon. I'm assuming they are run in parallel, but it wouldn't be beyond the realm of possibility that the generator is on it's own. Anyone know? I'd be thrilled if the disconnect removed both batteries from the circuit. That would make the most sense and would what I want. I'd like one disconnect to kill everything so I don't have to worry about a drain/dead battery issue. Waiting for solar panels to be delivered which will also mitigate the issue.

Just found out that the battery disconnect on the Voltage's apparently only disconnect the batteries from the inverter, not the whole 12 volt system. I'll be putting in a throw switch.

Talk about a misnomer...

I always wire mine with everything except the brakes downstream from the disconnect. Reason being if I forget to switch it on I still have my emergency brakes.

My unit has an on off switch, when you are facing the generator door above it and to the right. There is a docking switch and a cap switch. Do you not have this?

My dome and cap lights are in the storage compartment. I ultimately found out how to shut the LED's off. They are controlled with the LINC. Also discovered that there is no true battery disconnect that kills ALL the 12 volt power. On my list to correct. Leaving this morning for our first trip. Paul Wolff Camprground in Kane County Illinois. Hopefully a short list of questions for everyone once we get out and start to experiment.

Most Auto parts stores sell battery disconnects that attach directly to the battery post and you would just need to unscrew the dial or flip a lever when you want to disconnect. Remember though, if you do this they are not charging either unless you hook up a charger directly to the battery.

Right. Not an issue in a bit. Waiting for a couple of solar panels to install. Thanks and have a good weekend.
