Yeah... my 36-gal tank vs. their twin 100-150 gal tanks. Trust me, we're not holding them up. I sorta made that same mistake too when I first began...

I was using a lane, when a truck pulled in behind me to wait his turn. I had ran thru a swarm of about 1000 of them love bugs a few miles further back, and was taking a bit of extra time washing them off of the front grille, hood, and fenders. When I got done with everything, I pulled forward to the line and then got out to go inside for a drink a bag of chips. On my way, I passed by the driver to apologize for taking a bit of extra time. He smiled & waved me off, saying...

"Hell son, you ain't no hold up to me... that's why I pulled in behind you instead of one of them other trucks. They'll be there 15-20 mins, and I knew you'd be gone within 5."

Yep, it's a good place for them to catch up the log book

Not sure about the newer trucks, but on my old '96 PSD I had to punch out the holes so the big rig diesel nozzles would fit.

I used to crack some of the big rig guys up by pulling up to the pumps and using both the main pump and the slave pump. I would use the main for the truck tanks and the slave for the bed tank. At one point I was carrying over 300 gallons of fuel. I had a bed tank that I used for job site equipment refueling. I had extended tanks on the truck. IIRC I was good for nearly 80 gallons on the truck then had a 250 gallon flat tank in the bed. STILL regret selling that beast.

Ford changed the Superduty's over in 2002. My buddy's 2001 F250 had a restricted fuel fill. My 2002 F250 took the larger size diesel nozzles.

My 2017 F250 will take the large nozzles. Will have more experience with the truck lanes by the end of the day Sunday. Heading to Florida Sunday morning.

I might add that the large nozzles really deliver the fuel with a lot of volume and speed, I always set it to the slowest position so as not to have a splash back when the tank gets full! Even then it still might, so I listen for the gurgle and manually shut it off and I always wear gloves.

You wanna crack someone up? There is fuel station near home here that the only diesel pumps they have are around back and have the large nozzles. I've pulled in there when the price is right with my diesel beetle and pumped the 18-gallon tank full in record time! Have to go pretty slow when trying to top off though!
