New truck thoughts

I currently have a 2004 f150 and am looking to upgrade. What likes and dislike do you have with your tow vehicle? Looking at 250/2500 hopefully.

I have a 2014 Dodge Ram 3500 4WD 6.7/Auto with factory tow package

It does what I want and I'm happy with it. If I needed a new truck I'd look at a Ram again.

What are you towing?

I have a 2017 F250 with the towing package. It uses the new plug system without the rails. It also has a backup camera with a laser at the top rear of the cab making hitching up to a fifth wheel a breeze. It has plenty of torque and tows my Endurance 3556 without any difficulty. I love the truck.

I have a F150 and pull a Kodiak 30' Travel Trailer and have no problems. I have a small V8 also. The pulling power is there but not uphill. The trailer only weighs 5300lbs dry weight and 6000lbs loaded. I have only 70,000 miles on the truck. It would be perfect if it had a turbo v6 or a 5.0 V8.

I also just got a 2018 Ford F150 with the 3.5L V6 Ecoboost engine and the max towing package. It should be a significant upgrade from my 2009 GMC Sierra 1500, especially as we cross the mountains to visit grandkids in Utah. Our trailer isn't that big, but between the strong headwinds and the steep mountains, the GMC bogged down often. I also am excited to get hooked up and hit the road this spring!

Here it is!

Here are a couple of pictures of the new truck. The color is stone gray. It has the 10 speed transmission and a 36 gallon gas tank. So far, I love it! I keep looking at my trailer with its cover on and surrounded by snow. I can't wait for spring!
