I am WIMP----- Minus -16 I don't care if its F or C this is cold. First time since we moved to Kamloops that I have had plug my car in ( electric blocker heater that heats oil so it starts easier) the trailer looks like one large ice cube. This is Northern BC Alberta and Southern Alberta weather. Will be trying to find a full serve gas station too cold to stand out side to fill the car and truck with gas
Poor dog just got back from the groomer so he doesn't wonder too far from the house to do his business ...means easy pick up for me.
Please will any one in warmer climates please email some heat....

We are having a January thaw - temps are actually around 40F - so I thought I'd send you some liquid sunshine!

However next week - we are supposed to go down to 2F on Wednesday & Thursday so we go back into the deep freeze mode!

Our January thaw has come and gone... The rain and 40's have given way to the 20's again. But with the 17" of snow gone I can get the ATV back down to the woods now!

Dave..any thought of putting a plow on your ATV and chains on the tires (4x4?) so you can plow the drive and break trail to the woods " badger style"....or do have the old "Big Red Honda Three Wheeler"?

It is when you go out side after the snow has fallen. Find a clean spot where nothing has been fill a huge bowl with the snow. Then you add 1 can of sweetened condense milk, 1 teaspoon of vanilla flavoring. Then you mix it togther till you get it looking like vanilla ice cream then eat YUM. If the snow has sleet or freezing rain with it don't use it. The sleet and freezing rain makes it yucky. The lighter the snow the better it taste.

Coops,

I have chains for my Sportsman 400 for getting out on the lake for some ice fishing. So no Big Red 3 Wheeler here! But no plow on it yet. I've thought about it, by my Big Orange 2 Wheeler blows out the driveway just fine.

Early forecast for next week is single digits for the high temps and below 0 for the nightly lows. That should firm up the lake pretty good!

Hey, Captain Highliner (AKA Dave) How big of a boat do you have for ice fishing..your hull must be pretty strong from taking a beating against the ice.

Gotcha

Ab & Pam..... I stood out side in the front yard since the 14th January with my huge bowl in both hands. But no luck no falling snow . This is a mixed blessing....unable to make snow cream but I don't have to shovel it.
Unable to use the back yard as our Welsh Terrior uses this area.... if you what I mean.....

Thanks again for the recipe...may crush some ice cube and try it that way.

Well I have made it before with a kitchen blender thing called the ninja. It says it will make ice into snow. It some what did but it made the snow cream a little icy instead of creamy. May be it will snow a little not alot so you can make some. It is very yummy and sweet. We had flakes of snow last night for about an hour and a half but because we had rain most of the day it didn't really stick and then it rained some more we weren't able to make any
Today is sunny can't even tell it snowed. Good luck on the ice or the snow for your snow cream. Yes don't use yellow snow

I guess you're getting our frigid temps from a couple of days ago, now that it finally moved out of here (and to the east)...

We had some pretty good winds that last couple of days. I noticed a few shingles laying on the ground and I see that they are mine! But nothing compared to the homeowners along Lake Winnebago, which is a mile or so west of me. Check out this video of what the winds did with the lake ice. WNOW Test - Ice shoves damage property on Lake Winnebago

And I got this link from my sister in CA, who saw it on the news out there!

Tues. night was -28C here on the eastern shore of Georgian Bay. Today when the fire pager went off at 7AM for a drive shed fully involved it was
-23C. it made fire fighting quite a challange. I should add it was property damage only, no injuries to people or aminals.
