Speaking of HOAs, we built a fire station in a one square mile new housing area. The HOA had a rule against many things but of note was the one about nothing projecting above a roof line. As you know fire departments have an antenna or even antennae for communication purposes. Ours went above the station's roof line so the president of the HOA had the stupidity to come to us and ask/demand the antenna be lowered.
He wasn't overly happy when we told him we'd remove the antenna, and the men, and the trucks and he and his cronies could go back to paying high insurance rates on their expensive houses.
That didn't sit well with the bedroom community of retired military HOA weenies so they decided to pick on the WWII vet that lived next door. Being a Purple Heart recipient and a patriot he simply told them his flag pole with the American flag would remain and that he would seriously entertain the thought of defending his pole a flag with a shotgun.
We kept the antenna and he kept his flag pole and the HOA weenie tucked tail to go pick on someone else he could intimidate.
Moral of the story, don't piss off the fire department, they don't have to run the siren at 3am when pulling out of the station but they can.

Great feedback everyone. I have decided to follow MartyG's advise and cool it off. So, far the RV has spent time where it always has and we have not gotten any new anonymous cards. I have been more "active" with the HOA and have not heard anything that relates to recreation vehicles, trailers, boats and the likes parked in a home owner's property. Will probably wait till there are "hints" that they may talk about it but will just go on with HOA activities for the meantime. Will update you further if anything happens.

FWIW glad I don't live in places like that anymore. Only HOA I have is my MIL, and as long as I don't leave the JD with the disc down in the middle of the road to the house I can pretty much do as I damn well please.

I don't have a HOA but it is in our covenants that no boats or RV's can be within direct sight of the main drive. It sucks but to be honest, I understand as we have nice homes in our small neighborhood. Not all RV's are created equal and I'm sure it's easier just to say no RV's. I can park it for a day or two before and after a trip with no issue so that's good enough.

Guess I'm ole skool... I dont live in a cookie cutter neighborhood with a HOA, or whatever they call them... kiss my a $$... my property is my property you do what you want with yours I do what I want on mine. I have a nice house with nice houses around me, and a few that are not as nice... my motorhomes/campers have all been parked in my driveway for 30+ years. How dare some chicken $ hit.. try and tell me I cant do this or that... not a good idea! Sorry just sayin... I would never even consider living in that type of socialist neighborhood!

I live on 40 acres in the middle of a paper company's pine forest. My closest neighbor is 1 1/2 miles away.

I guess I am the HOA. 😃

That is kind of like what we had... until they sold off to developers. Only saving grace at this point is that our property is bounded on 3 sides by US Government land that is part of the buffer zone for Fort Bragg, NC. Only problem is they don't enforce the no trespassing, and have discussed letting the county have a chunk of it to use.

UPDATE: So far, nothing from the HOA. Must really be a socialist neighbor.
RANT OF THE DAY: Can't understand people who are bothered by things such as an 18 foot functional travel trailer on a driveway and clear of the sidewalk/walkway. There are more things that should bother your eye sight...such as that empty soda bottle on the road in front of your property that you do not want to pick up!!!!

That isn't their problem... "someone" else will take care of it. Now if it was in front of YOUR property they would make sure you were aware of it!

Now you know WHY I no longer live in a subdivision with an HOA. I have no problem with reasonable covenants that are clearly spelled out, and HOA is a totally different animal.
