Getting Ready to Go!

We're all packed and ready to go. Just have to finish this day of work and we take the first ferry off the Island in the morning.
The first travel day is always the hardest for us especially if we're heading south.
First, it's a 2 hour ferry ride, then a border crossing and now a collapsed bridge! Not sure yet what our best detour option will be but after all that we should be OK.
First major stop- Yellowstone National Park for a couple weeks, then back north to Alberta and Waterton National Park, Banff, Jasper and then west to New Hazleton and then south through the BC Cariboo and Fraser Canyon and Vancouver Island!

Sounds like a great trip. We are planning to visit our daughter and family in Calgary in early October and then head over the mountains into BC by October 15th or so to begin a trip down the west coast. Do you have any experience crossing the mountains at that time of year? I'm a little concerned about weather possibilities with the trailer in tow. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks and bon voyage!

Well, got across on the ferry with a much lighter wallet, made it across the border in only 45 minutes and around the Mt. Vernon detour in good time! Kudos to Washington State DOT for the scenic detour with no backups despite the Memorial Day weekend!
Made it to St. Regis, Montana tonight after a stop at Camping World. Not impressed, BTW, prices are higher than we can get the stuff for on Vancouver Island! Well, except the surge protector pigtail that for whatever reason is not available in Canada.

Coops, will do!

A surge protector is a must as far as I'm concerned.
If I could afford one I would have bought the high and low voltage cutout one but the one I got was a surge protector/GFCI/Polarity tester for $100. Not CSA as it is from the states but it is UL which CSA approves.
Gas varies, we paid $4.20 in Blaine and $3.75 (99.2 Lt) here in Montana so I'm happy!
