Finally made it to the top

Well, as far as 2-wheels could get me.

Been at this campground for about 3 weeks. It might be my favorite camping spot ever.

Anyways, I've been exploring "the trails" around here and for whatever reason, I wanted to get to a spot that looked interesting from a satellite point of view. But for various reasons, I just couldn't make the right choices when I got deep into the national forest. But today, it was like I had homing radar!

Absolutely breathtaking vistas about 30 times. Helmet Peak 12000'

How did I miss this?? You're going to be literally inches from the eclipse up there.

I text my boss back in Texas that pic with a smart alec "So dude, ya think this would be a good spot to view the eclipse?"

Realizing I was taking a risk of being called home for rubbing it in.

He replied, looks like an OK spot. But about 20,000' lower than where I'll be watching.

Touché. He got me.
Turns out folks are chartering our fleet to view from high up right in the direct path.

Oh wow, that's crazy.

We're lucky enough to be dead center, lots of people paying $200 a pop to sit on a rooftop bar in Nashville. My porch is free and I don't have to deal with the kooks.
