Weekend trips
A question for any weekend warriors out there...
If you're going on a weekend trip, do you normally unhitch from your trailer?

Depends... I have done it both ways, typically yes. Especially if the site wasn't super level to begin with.

Waalll...my Voltage 3800 has the auto-level hydraulic jacks, so its best to unhook, pull forward until the back end of the truck is out from under the 5th wheel. Then hit the auto-level button.
If I'm spending just a night on the way somewhere, I'll use a 24" level and manually raise/lower the hydraulic jacks to get a decent level. But paying attention if I have to raise the nose of the 5th too much and try to lift the back end of the truck.
Just thoughts,
Pirate

Depends if I brought groceries, or if I plan on eating out.
Take this past weekend... traveling from Oklahoma to Colorado, I decided to take a weekend break in New Mexico. Arrived Saturday evening, knew I was departing this morning (Monday). Had steaks for the grill, and fresh watermelon for snacking. Never unhitched. Just dropped the hydraulic front legs to steady things, and that was it. No muss, no fuss.

If I'm going to be in one spot for more than a night I always un-hitch.

The last time I went out, it was only for the weekend and I didn't plan on going anywhere once I got to the campground. Then I got to thinking...should I unhitch or not?? I didn't. After reading all of your comments, it makes perfect sense to unhitch, Thank you!!
