Tires, to balance or not?

I will be jacking my trailer to inspect the brakes, the bearings and also replace the bushings in the suspension.

While I do that, I was planning on having metal valves installed and maybe have the tires balanced.

I'm kind of in between for the balancing. Read a bit, and some say it must be done other say it is not necessary.

Also read that these wheels should be balanced with a lug adaptor instead of the center hub.

What are your tought and experiences about wheel balancing on a travel trailer?

Thanks for the help!!!

Most trailer wheels I have dealt with have been junk, not properly centered and way out of whack. My personal preference is to either run some sort of dynamic balancing; like Centramatics or DynaBeads, with the alternate being balancing the entire wheel, tire, hub brake assembly in place on the trailer. Most shops aren't able to do it anymore. Hunter and Bear used to make a balancer just for that purpose, but no longer make it. Probably for liability reasons.

I have used both DynaBeads and Centramatics with excellent results. We still use Centramatics on our heavy trucks, and I have set on my F350.

Well, my Voltage Epic came with mag wheels, so they are made correctly.

I would have them balanced. I do on my equipment trailer, my dump trailer and my utility trailer.

I don't on my Polaris RZR.

The difference...the trailer tires see heavy loads and speeds up to 75 MPH. I want them balanced.

The RZR...for the most part 20MPH or less. So not that big of a deal.

I second Dynabeads or CounterAct - I run them in everything I have - no issues at all. An ounce of prevention...

Thanks for all the info.

The Dynabeads option looks interesting and quite easy to do. I will probably go that way.

My trailer tires are balanced just like all other tires. Plus they are not trailer tires but truck tires, Michelin Ribs.
