Was behind a guy on the freeway who had a trailer that was fishtailing a little everytime he got close to 65. I backed off a bit, just in case, hit my hazards to let others coming up know to be careful, and sure enough, withing a minute, he got way out of control. Truck and trailer were all over the place, into about 1/2 of the left and right lanes next to him, we all slowed, and watched it play out.. He was able to get it under control by easing off the gas, I did not see brake lights light up, thankfully. He saved it. Then got in the right lane and took his speed to 50mph.
As I drove past, what I saw was a trailer about 26' or so, being towed by a 1/2 ton GMC Yukon. Rear of the GMC was bottomed out, trailer not even close to level, and no load Levelers (not that his TV was correct for this application anyhow). Front was pointed up pretty high, making for a sever steering control issue I imagine.
Not sure how he thought his setup after loading was even close to being safe, but it takes all kinds I guess.
Hopefully, he took the next exit to get a new TV with better load ratings, but I doubt it.
Gear.
