The snow has hardly started to fall ...

...and I'm already chomping at the bit to get out this coming spring!

Because of my daughter's marching band obligations this fall (which were also my obligations) my last trip was Labor Day weekend. I'm thinking ahead to spring and deciding where I want to go second (first 'trip' is always my local campground to dewinterize and flush out any potential overwinter issues.)

In the meantime, let me live vicariously through y'all in the warmer climes ... where have you been recently?

funny, I'm going NORTH for a trip and hoping to get into the snow and trout fly fish in a cold, clear stream (got some new barb less hooks on my trout flies to try out).

I'll never quite understand you fly-fishers ... evidently the colder the better?

Do you have any concerns of freezing pipes?

No concern, I am fully prepared for COLD... Survived 5 below with 40 - 50 MPH winds with the RV. I have several heat lamps I put underneath the RV (don't think they work that great). I heat the RV park's pipe, I have a water softener that I cover with fiberglass insulation, I use heated water hoses (2) and put a heater in the bathroom (where the main water inputs are). What froze was my sewer pipe since I had a seeping water valve.

Trout LOVE Cold water. They get very active and FEED!

I wear two pair of pants underneath my waders, in addition to long underwear (florida boy). The second pair of pants are ski pants, warm and toasty. My hands get cold when I grab the trout since they need to be wet but warm up quickly. As long as the wind isn't blowing, I'm good!

Did a week in Pigeon Forge before Thanksgiving, cold and wet.
Doing a craft show this weekend in Pinehurst, NC. Wife and MIL do the craft show me and the dog will do the park thing and the nap thing.

The following week we are doing a day trip to the mountains to pick out a Christmas tree for my parents.

We run our motor home year round.

We just back from the beach a few days ago (Myrtle Beach). In a few days we're heading to Wilmington NC and then we'll go back down to Myrtle for new years. Then, nothing planned till spring. Last year it was freezing cold, at Myrtle, like 27 degrees every night. After the second night of the water freezing we packed up and headed home.

We go to the beach for Christmas every year to see family. Almost every year it's very pleasant in late December.
