Suspension Upgrade

I would like to know if anybody has had any experience with a MORryde suspension upgrade? Experiences positive or negative welcome. I am talking about this as related to a travel trailer. Thanks in advance.

We had the MoreRyde IS independent suspension installed on our trailer when it was 6 months old because we had a number of frame and axle problems the last of which was the cheap flimsy spring hangers tearing off the frame the MoreRyde is so much better in many ways it actually ties the frame together and strengthens it, the ride is FAR superior and the hydraulic disk brakes stop the rig 10 times faster making it much safer !

How much does the set up cost? Looks great but might cost more then I paid for my trailer.

8000 pound axles hydraulic disc brakes and installation $6800

If you travel very much with your trailer it's the best upgrade you can do!

That was for a 2 axle toy hauler three would be about another $3000

Just bought a new 5'er. That option with 17 1/2" tires on a two axle RV cost me 8 grand.

On my 2016 VOLTAGE TH, I had all leaf springs flatten out and one spring broke resulting in a massive suspension failure. The spring hangers collapsed which resulted in a bent frame. After three months trying to find a company to repair my frame I ended up calling Lippert LCI. They welded on heavier spring holders, straightened the frame and welded plates to both side of the frame between both set of springs. Also gusset all spring hangers. Installed a LCI retro-fit kit that added square tubing between the front and rear springs from on side to the other. Three more cross over channel's were also added. I also went with heavier leaf springs and Equaflex suspension. If I still have problems I'm parking it and writing it off as a total loss with my insurance co.!

I had the same problem with mine at 6 months old I had already replaced all springs with heavier ones after first trip but when the spring hangers failed I had to straighten the frame weld in cross supports between the spring hangers then I made the appointment to get the MoreRyde installed should have done it from the start would have saved a lot of headaches

I've only put a couple thousand miles on my trailer and I only carry my Harley in it. I'm wondering if the guys with the problems carry more or have bigger units? Thanks in advance.

My coach is 3605 40' 2 axle unit. At the time of the break down, I was only carrying clothes and camping supplies. By the way, I just found out that the new springs installed after 2,000 miles are doing the same thing. Im going to a heavier spring with an extra leaf.

I called Dutchman and they said they corrected that on my 395, I need to crawl under and see if I see more supports between the axels. It’s 31’ end to end. And a 2018 model.

My unit is a 3605 also I knew they would just replace the springs with the same ones and i would have the problem again so i just put heavier springs on myself at a cost of $600 with shipping then the next thing was the spring hangers failing and twisting the frame in hindsight I should have saved all the money I put into it to try and fix their bad design and just put it towards the MoreRyde from the beginning

I’ve had the same problem with our 2013 3200 and have repaired it numerous times. The stock chassis is junk and it failed twice on us with just bicycles in the back. A friend spent 14 hours welding up the frame and making the spring hangers the way they should have been done at the factory. Who did your work and are you happy with the install.

The Lippert mobile tech came to my house to perform the repairs. I was very pleased with his work and it was warrantied for one year. I was told that Dutchman while going bankrupt built their units as cheap as they could. They used a lightweight LCI frame and Chinese steel for the leaf springs. It's to bad that there is no quality control in the trailer industry. I paid $70,000 for a TH that is 2 years old. Had to pay another $4,000 to repair the suspension. If this happened in the automobile industry, they would have been sued along with an issued Federal recall for the units.
