Shower Pan

My 200QB has a very nice shower. My only concern is the floor (pan). It is very soft and squishy. Are the shower pans supposed to be soft ?
Also my awning retracts very very slowly. It needs to be helped with retracting by pushing on the aluminum arms. Any ideas of why ? My batteries and new....
Thanks.

My 2018 Kodiak Cub also has a flexible floor in the shower. It tends to cause me to step carefully and softly.

Electric awnings typically require special lubricants on the sliding anchor points. The manual may specify the special lubricant and how often it is to be done.

The shower pan in my 2017 201qb is also soft. I opened the front access panel and I can see why. I’m going to ad more supports.

thanks Bob. I dont think I have an access panel. Soft pan seems like a design flaw. Maybe they have good reason but I wonder why.....

Our Denali had a problem with the shower pan. It was replaced by Camping World. That pan than shifted about 1 inch breaking the pan around the drain. Camping World replaced the shower pan again and put support under it. Its working good - NOW.

Again I wonder if the "soft pan" is supposed to be that way....?....

Why would the factory install a squishy floor ?

Paul. I found awning lubricant on ebay for $24. I wonder if AT 50 aircraft corrosion spray is the same type of "stuff"... I have cans of the aircraft spray. I plan on trying it out next trip...... thanks.

Builder probably didnt put any mortar under the pan during install. Keep an eye on the drain pipe for leaks due to the repeated flexing.

builder was Dutchman. It is a 2015 Kodiak QB 200. I read that other owners have the same "squishy" pan.

Hello
I have a Kodiak 201QB that had the same issue, and many more. It's due to the manufacture QC and not caring, mine was appalling almost went thru it. I took the panel off at the bottom and added about 6 more wooden supports, kind of difficult but well worth it. If I had to do again I think I would make a mold and foam it. It would have to be 2 part high density foam ., not the spray can type but 2 part roofing foam that dries in seconds.. Good luck

Thank You for responding. This seems like a Dutchman issue with bad engineering... Pisser....

Soft shower floor

Our panel (different model) with corner shower is right in the front center. I removed the access panel and like was said above, the reason is obvious. There is a wooden support frame with a foam pad on top. It needs more support, but if I were to tackle that, I would remove the shower and do it right. These things are certainly low end campers, in my opinion.

Our 2013 Kodiak was the same way. I fixed it by accessing the problem area through the access door. The size of the access hole limits the size of the material I used. I added a small piece of plywood and a couple of small pieces of 2x4. Glued it all together and no more trampoline in the shower.

I'm wondering if anyone had ever had an issue attributed to the soft pan issue? I'm uncomfortable about the pan being "mushy"!

Thats the word. "Mushy". I have been saying "Squishy".

First time I stepped into the shower I was worried about the Mushiness....

The factory doesnt seem to want to answer my question about this issue..

I put this in the bottom of my shower for extra support for the shower pan. I removed the rubber feet from the bottom and cut off the point so it would fit the pan better.

Soft floor on 200QB

I also have the issue with the "soft" floor of the shower on my 2011 Kodiak 200QB. I opened the inspection panel under the shower door and took a look. It appeared to me that the support system was poorly designed and really needed to be reinforced. I cut 2x2 wooden pegs to the length of the distance from the trailer subfloor to the shower floor. Working around the drain, I placed a thin piece of plywood under the shower floor with the wooden pegs between it and the subfloor. So far so good and feels more stable now.
