RV door holder breaks alot, thinking of metal version

My second door on my Denali is close to the Awning and it needs a 90 degree door catch holder. Anyone who's got a door like that knows those plastic ones snap off frequently. That door is just a big sail when its 90 degrees to the trailer. But I don't have a choice.

Have any of you tried the metal versions? My local RV dealer says the metals ones frequently tear out the screws of the holder. I don't want that either.

I've got a denali, this is what I purchased! I went to lowes and purchased stainless steel screws to fasten it. It's pretty solid.

Yes I know its solid. My questions is, is it too solid. My RV dealership says the 90 degree ones especially can tear out the screws. The straights generally are used for doors that hug up against the trailer nicely. If you are using a 90 degree, its probably because you can't get the door too close to the RV (like if an Awning or hot water tank) are behind the door. I'm concerned that the dealership might be right. I don't want to tear out those screws.

I have used it in 60 mile per hour winds in the mountain of North Carolina. Works fine. ...and no, the awning was NOT out.

I bought the same stainless latch for the large storage door on our Denali 330 RLS. The door opens a little more than 90 degrees under the bedroom slide. The plastic broke in weeks. The dealer installed my new one after I bitched about the poor quality of hardware . They used stainless rivets on the wall and small screws on the hatch. The rivets have been no problem in 4 years. I replaced the screws in the hatch bracket with stainless 8/32 machine screws and nuts. There is nothing to hold just a screw. I hate this door arrangement the most. All utilities and LCI controls are behind this door. With a back full of screws and rods, it is torture getting my 6'2" frame under that door.
