Does anyone know what type of roof they use on the Coleman Light series? I went up to look at it today and it seem like some sort of thick plastic material laid on top of the rafters. It does not appear to have and sheathing under the plastic to serve as a base.
Some trailers are constructed with wood trusses a thin vapor barrier and luan plywood (which is very thin) covered with rubber or tpo roofing. These are not walk on roofs. If your going to be walking up there you should use a piece of plywood to span the trusses.
I was once told by a dealer if the trailer came with a roof ladder you have a walk on roof it if didn't you probably don't...
I found a Dutchman factory video of roof construction after the plywood is laid. The plywood looks like it's at least 1/4". After watching the video I think I would be happy if my roof was constructed as good as this one.
Did some digging, think you may have the 6mm luan underlayment, it is actually a bit under 1/4". The walk on roofs usually have something like 12mm-14mm which is closer to a 1/2" thick. Nothing wrong with a fully adhered TPO roof, they are used in the commercial roofing business all the time. Biggest issue with TT's is making sure you maintain the edge sealant and that the roof is properly pinned under the edge moldings. I inspect my roof twice a year. In your case you will need to do it from a step ladder vs walking on the roof.

Love how they are blowing sawdust directly into the sticky tape...
Now you know how the ceiling lights get full of sawdust too! A vacuum collector on the router would go a long ways to keeping things cleaner. (But those cost money)

Not done ranting... Love how the guy can't be bothered to move 2 feet to the other side of the skylight so he reaches over and drives every screw in on a 45 degree angle.

That’s funny. He can’t take the time to do it right...he gets paid by the piece.
Thanks everyone. (Yeah they all just slap them together as fast as possible.)
I had another look today and it does seem like a rubber type membrane over some very thin decking. I see foot prints on there, but no way am I walking up there.
I guess i need to get 2 piece of plywood and keep them with me in case I ever need to go up there to take care of anything. I'm thinking 3/8" ply and round over all of the edges.

I use a padded moving blanket to put down on the roof before I set the plywood on the TPO roof.
You will also need a ladder to get on the roof. I use a 13 foot multi posistion ladder that I store on a BAL rack under the trailer.

They need to stop paying these workers piece work and pay them by the hour.
Unfortunately to get the quality trailer we all want it would cost us twice what we paid....
